Tour Program

1st day – Arrival at Istanbul. Transfer and accomodation at the hotel. Spare time. Dinner.  

2nd day – Breakfast. City tour including visits to the Hippodrome square, the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Suleymaniye Mosque and Beylerbeyi Palace. Transfer to Ankara by bus (455 km). Accomodation at hotel and dinner.

3rd day – Breakfast. Ankara city tour including visits to the Ataturk Mausoleum and the Ankara fortress. Upon request, visit to the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations. Transfer to Cappadocia. Accomodation at the hotel. Free time and dinner

4th day – Breakfast. Cappadocia tour. Visit to the underground city of Ozkonak, the city of ceramics masters at Avanos, and the Uchisar fortress. The Goreme monastery complex. Dinner at the hotel and free time.  

5th day – Breakfast. The Eskigumus monastery – the only holy place where St. Mary is depicted smiling. Transfer to Antakya (Antiochia) which is the most southern town of Turkey. On the way there a visit to Tarsus – the birthplace of St. Paul. Accomodation at the hotel and dinner. 6th day – Breakfast. Antakya city tour. This is the town where Jesus’s followers were called Christians for the first time, and where St. Paul started his journeys. Visit to the first Christian church of St. Peter, and to the second biggest archeological museum in world, famous for its mosaics collection. Transfer to Urfa. Accomodation at the hotel and dinner

7th day – Breakfast. Urfa city tour. This town is sometimes called the “The City of Prophets”, because 5 prophets are told to have lived here. One of them – Abraham – was born in a cave now bearing his name: Abraham’s Cave. Transfer to Adiyaman and visit to the Nemrut mount, where king Antioch’s tomb is located. Accomodation at hotel and dinner.
8th day – Breakfast. Transfer to Diyarbakir. City tour. Archeologic studies made here confirm that as early as in the 7th century BC an ancient civilization was living in this area. The name of the city has remained since the Persian times of Amid, and has outlived the epochs of Mitania, Gouria, Assyria, Persia, Rome, Byzans, the Arabs, the Selcuks and the Ottomans. Accomodation at the hotel and dinner.

9th day – Breakfast. Transfer to Van. On the way you will visit the beautiful Akdamar church built in 915 AD on the isle in the Van lake. Accomodation at the hotel and dinner.  

10th day – Breakfast. Van city tour. For a long time this town had been the capital of the Urarthu kingdom under the name of Tushpa. Transfer to Dogubayazit, where ther looms Ishak Pasa’s castle, raising above the plains. It was built in 1700. Accomodation at the hotel and dinner.

11th day – Breakfast. Transfer to Kars and visit to the legendary ancient town of Ani. Transfer to Erzurum. Accomodation at the hotel and dinner.  

12th day – Breakfast. Erzurum city tour. This city was founded in the Byzantine times and called Fedociapolis. In 622, a Council took place here that unsuccessfully tried to prevent the Armenians against joining to the Orthodox Church. Transfer to Trabzon. Accomodation at the hotel and dinner

13th day – Breakfast. Visit to the Sumel monastery. City tour after the lunch. Dinner, night in the hotel.

14th day – Breakfast. Flight to Istanbul. Departure from Istanbul.
