Tour Program

1st day (Saturday) – Arrival at Istanbul. Transfer to hotel. City tour includes visits to Hagia Sophia, The Vlacherna Church, Patriarchate, The Mongolian Virgin Lady’s Church, The Kariye Museum and Church of Constantine Lips Church.

Dinner at the hotel.

2nd day (Sunday) – Breakfast. Transfer to Cappadocia (750 km). Visit to Ankara on the way and a tour of the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations (available by request). Accomodation at hotel. Dinner.

3rd day (Monday) – Breakfast. Cappadocia tour including visits to the the underground city of Kaymakli, the monastery complex of Goreme, the old temples in Zolve, the Sprite Camina’s Plains. Urgup (the ancient Procopion), where St. John the Orthodox lived. Visit to St. John’s temple in Cavusin. Dinner.

4th day (Tuesday) – Transfer to Antiochia (480 km). This is the town where Jesus’s followers were called Christians for the first time, and where St. Paul started his journeys. Visit to Tarsus – St. Paul’s birthplace. Dinner.  

5th day (Wednesday) – Breakfast. City tour, visit to St. Paul’s church. The mosaics museum. Transfer to the town of Silifke and visit to St. Tekla’s church, built by Constantine the Emperor in 337 and dedicated to one of St. Paul’s followers. Accomodation at a hotel in Alanya. Spare time and dinner. (Antiochia-Silifke-Alanya 580 km).

6th day (Thursday) – Travel to Pamukkale via Demre (250 km). On request, for an additional price, you can visit a museum in Antalya, where St. Nicholas’ relics are stored.

Visits to St. Nicholas’ church in Mira and to St. Nicholas’ birthplace in Patara. Transfer to Pamukkale through Demre. Accomodation at a hotel in Pamukkale (260 km). Dinner.

7th day (Friday) - Breakfast. Visit to Hierapolis, to the place where St. Philip was martyred, and to Travertin. Transfer to Ephesus, where St. Paul had preached. Visit to St. Mary’s church and house. Transfer and accomodation at Kusadasi (230 km). Free time and dinner.  

8th day (Saturday) – Breakfast. Visit to the burial place and the church of St. John. The cave of the Seven Sleeping Boys of Ephesus. Travel to Bursa via Izmir (ex-Smirna – 330 km). On request, visit to the ancient city of Pergamon. Accomodation at hotel. Spare time, dinner.

9th day (Sunday) – Breakfast. Transfer to Iznik (Nicaea in Byzantine times). The first Ecumenic Council took place here in 325 AD. St. Sophia’s temple. Travel to Istanbul by ferry across the Sea of Marmara (40 minutes, 243 km). Transfer to the airport. Departure from Istanbul.
